As we continue to review and analyze the SDWR Covid-19 mitigation processes and protocols on a regular basis we have decided to move forward with an update/change to our Quarantine- Close Contact protocol. We are moving to an optional Quarantine/Close Contact protocol for all identified close contacts at school. Please see the description below and please view the link to the Flow Chart and Example Notification Email.
The School District of Wild Rose will move to the following protocol effective Monday, January 31st, 2022:
Close Contacts - Quarantine
Close contact to a household positive: quarantine for 5 days, test on day 5, and return to school as early as day 6. Day 1 for close contacts in the home is day 6 for the positive case. Meaning a positive case and close contact could both potentially be back in school on positive case day 11. The School Nurse will be contacting the household to work with the family to determine the return dates.
- All other close contacts identified at school: optional quarantine - they can either come to school, stay in school, or quarantine for 7 days (no test) and return on day 8. The individual must be symptom-free. All notifications of close contacts will be emailed to the email address that is in our Skyward Information System. Please make sure you update any email addresses in Skyward or contact the school office.
What can we do to lessen the chance of infection and/or lessen the chance of sickness if infected:
- Everyone should be monitoring for Covid-19 symptoms on a daily basis, for our safety and those around us. Please continue to use the Home-Health Checklist on a daily basis.
- Do not come to school/work if you have Covid-19 symptoms (determined through monitoring). When students and staff are not feeling well, please report your symptoms to the school nurse and stay home until symptom-free for 24 hours.
Per a Federal Order - Masks will continue to be required on all district-provided transportation including school vans and school buses until the Federal Order is lifted.
